About TinTac
The original TinTac Bloomsbury bag evolved with a new breed of young professional DJs who, from the early 1970s onwards, sought the perfect bag to transport their precious records from gig to gig. Legendary dance music store,City Sounds in Bloomsbury, was one of the leading suppliers to these DJs.

John Wright, founder of City Sounds, set out to source and adapt a functional utility bag that his customers could use to carry around their vinyl. It had to be tough, waterproof, smart and versatile enough to adapt to being carried in different ways: as a tote, a shoulder bag and a rucksack – the Bloomsbury Bag was born.
The Bloomsbury was an instant hit with DJs, and over time it began to be used not only for carrying records, but as a general utility bag and street fashion accessory by those inspired by the DJ scene. At that time The Bloomsbury was in limited supply and only available from leading independent record stores throughout Europe.
TinTac was created to develop a collection of bags that would remain faithful to the design and production values associated with the original Bloomsbury Bag, available to the wider public to suit the requirements of their everyday lives.
Today, John Wright and the TinTac team continue to produce The Bloomsbury and it has been the inspiration behind the creation of a whole range of new styles such as The Hoxton, The Soho and The Chelsea – functional bags inspired by life in London.
